The Expense of Dating
How should a date be paid for?
Should the guy always pay, should you share it, should you split it?
Does this remain the same as you date each other more?

I always pay for the dinner on the first date, then I pay in other ways for the remainder of the relationship. :?

I think generally a guy should pay since he asked you out in the first place.....plus it gives him a chance to fulfill his 'hunter - gatherer' roll in life. I will usually pay for a couple of rounds of drinks though.
I think once you've formed a relationship and are dating regularly.... splitting the tab or doing dinner at each other's house is very fair.
Going out is VERY expensive. I don't know how guys can afford it very often.
Ofourse not all women drink as much beer as I can....LOL!

I personally think men don't put enough effort in taking ladies out anymore, it doesn't have to be expensive a picnic at the park, a walk on the beach, looking at the stars that's all FREE
I am so sick of hearing " what do you want to do" if a guy askes me out he should have a plan...
sorry for the rant but that really bothers me

I think guys mean it in a nice way when they ask you that though. I was surpised how many guys on LS used to post and ask what they should plan to do for a date. I guess it can really be confusing for them.
I point them to the closest bar and consider my wishes met!

It depends on how much I know about my intended victim (err, date) on how I plan for a date. I do ask what she want's to do as many women seem to appreciate having a say in the date. If she says whatever I decide or is passive in any way, I'll decide the entire night.
I pay for the whole date usually but noticed that many women will pay for something later if their enjoying the date, or will cheap out and opt to go home if their not. I've only ever been on one bad date and it lasted 6 - 8 months.

Dating isn't scary at all....some of the GUYS you might date will seem kind of scary....but I consider it free food and beer.....if nothing else! HAHA!

Cunning flirtation, my fave! I'm only any good at it with people I know, though. Catch 22.
