I absolutely love dr. phil. I watch him everyday. These cd's should help you along whether you stay together or break up. I want the family first book.

I know! I seen that one and a few more that were very farmiliar to my family. Unfortunately Krystal wasn't around to watch it. I'd love to have him personally save our family crisis. I think he's an angel sent from heaven. He's so good! Did you watch the show when he gave this young girl everything (and i mean everything) she needed to go to college? She wanted to know if she should go to college or stay and keep taking care of her siblings. OMG! I was crying! He gave her a car too!!! He's the best!

Who knows. It might work.
I find he's quite candid in his approach, begining with the admission that unless BOTH partners in the relationship are intensely committed to it, no counselling, including his own, is going to work.
Of course then one wonders why, if both partners are intensely committed to each other, then are they reading the book/watching the tapes?
Paradoxically, it seems his, and all other forms of counselling is best applied to marriages with mild to medium problems.
Anyway I've read the book and done the notetaking after Delilah had done the same. Got to the stage where we were supposed to spend 30 minutes a day for a couple of weeks staring into each other's eyes and exposing our rawest, truest feeling for each other.
Delilah never made a move to step into this, and neither did I.
Evil Spirits must possess us, and I'm afraid only excorsism will resolve our problems.

I don't think I am going to be able to look in to his eyes and express my love for him for 30 minutes... or at least not sober anyway... LMAO

Hell, I can't even look into a mirror for 5 minutes and express my love for myself. The only person I can express my love for any length of time is my daughter. We sometimes have discussions, usually in the car, about what we love most about each other. We also discuss things that we admit to doing wrongly or that we believe are questionable. I think this has been one of the biggest reasons why we're so close, we both talk and we both listen.
Important to note, just about any communication course will tell you that you cannot effectively listen to someone if your thinking of a response. When someone is talking, it's vital that you do not consider answers until the person has completely finished talking. Every sales course written is also based off of this simple principal.

Hey Samson are you two still in the same bed or are you on the couch? Just wondering I'm in my son's room.

I'm in the master bedroom. She sleeps in daughter's room. I slept in that room for a while when my younger son was her age.
Admittedly, I much prefer this arrangement.
