Does online dating really works?
Just few days back my friend sent me an invitation for free dating website. It was for <---Link Removed--->. What do you think guys? Does Internet dating really work? Shall I sign up with this website? I’m looking for your suggestions. My friend told me that he met various singles on dating website and found his match too. Well, I will look forward for your opinions and experience about internet dating.

Re: Does online dating really works?
It can work. Just like real life dating a lot of things can go wrong, though.
In general the more "stuck" you are in one place (career, money-wise) etc., the harder it is to do online dating. Unless you live in a large metripolian area, so that distances are limited.

Re: Does online dating really works?
My roommate met her boyfriend on the internet and they couldn't be happier. He's over here all the time and a really cool guy. Really into the 50's look with the tank top and greased back hair, but hey whatever works right? I don't even have any hair. I think they said they met on some site called...plenty of fish? I think that sounds right. Meh I dunno, I dated someone I met on an old site called ratemyface years and years ago - turns out I actually went to school with her.
So I guess it can happen.

Re: Does online dating really works?
Sorry, but "internet dating" did not exist when I was single, so I have no experience.
Frankly, I would have probably used it, among all the other "traditional" techniques. I'm a bit puzzled about what the additional risks may be from online vs "offline" dating? Either way, I'd expect to meet a few bad apples.

Re: Does online dating really works?
I know of a couple that are very happy meeting online and are together; going to get married.
I also have a friend that tried online dating, met someone but they just weren't compatible.
I have also heard of horror stories.
Even if it was available when I was younger, I wouldn't try it. But that's just me.

Re: Does online dating really works?
Why is it any different than picking someone up in a bar or meeting at a club of some type. The only difference is you don't get to see them right away. You have to arrange to meet. You will find bad apples no matter how you meet. I feel like I have made some really good friends here on this site and look forward to meeting you all some day. No different than if I was trying to date this way, in my opinion. There are now guarantees with the usual ways to meet people either.

Re: Does online dating really works?
i dated a guy online and it just didnt turn out to be right, without meaning too, fell head over heels for another guy online, this one being fireblade, and now we're getting married at the end of this year.
if your willing to remain faithful and be patient it can work.

The difference is most dating sites match you up with someone you'll be compatible with. It sort of cuts out the chaff and gets right to the point.

I guess that was part of my point. Dating sites seem like a much better deal than the hit and miss of picking someone up at a bar or gym or grocery store. But either way, you have to be with the person for a bit in person to make sure they are as they appeared when you first met. People can lie on dating sites just as easily as other places.

Don't bet on it, there's a lot of people who lie online.
I think online dating could be a great way to meet people but don't expect it to find you a mate straight away.
