Being unreasonable for no apparent reason...
I was going to put this in the Adult forum, but then I thought it might have something to do with aging...
This morning, as usual on a Monday especially, I couldn't find my keys. So, the more I looked for them, the more anxious I became. I asked my husband if he borrowed them to unlock his workshop, he said, "No". This is where the unreasonable part came in! I just kept at him that he must have borrowed them because I couldn't find them in my usual place(s). He was getting upset and I was getting more unreasonable, and then I found them in the very bottom of my purse where I had looked previously though very quickly.
I offered an apology because I had gotten myself in a "dither", but the apology came out very hollow!
The sad part of this action of mine is I had no apparent reason to get so upset, I didn't get up late, I had lots of time to walk to the bus, I was dressed and ready...and I don't usually act this way at all and I don't suffer from anxiety...unless this is the start of it...!
It definitely coloured my day because I couldn't figure out what this was all about...
Do things like this happen to any of you?

I've done that a few times to my husband about keys or my cigarettes. I automatically think he's the one who took them if they're not in the usual places that i leave them. 99% of those times, it was me who misplaced them. He's done that to me also though.
When I do that, i feel a sense of panic. only for a couple minutes then it goes away. it's weird.

I think it's just a build up of emotion that overwhelmes you sometimes and I believe it to be perfectly normal. If your snapping all the time such as I did, then it may be a sign of a deeper personal issue.

Your telling me you've never been unreasonable, lmao. :eek
You may want to think just a wee bit harder on that one, like say a few years back in a certain admin forum ;-)
Not like I'm the posterboy for restraint either :?

I hope you realized it was sarcasm of course, it's a part of daily life that I've been slowly overcoming, I'm doing much better now.

Thanks for your responses, friends, I did feel like a heel because it was so uncalled for!
Actually, my husband was great about it at suppertime, and he joked about maybe putting a nail on my chair to hang my keys on, but he knew it wouldn't help because we'd just go through it again next weekend!
I told him I was going to concentrate on putting my keys in the same place every time because this really taught me a lesson; but he just slowly grinned...
