Default 48 hours

I've got about 48 hours before the return of the Wild Bunch forces me to return to my "comfort zone:" A routine life. Which has given me reason to consider:

What if you had 48 hours to live AND HAD TO WALK the FREAKIN' DOG twice a day (AM,PM)?

I don't mean live a fantacy, but within reasonable, realistic limits of endurance, economics, and physical dimension, what would you do?

Just a couple of thoughts before you decide:

1. Don't do anything during the first 24 hours that will screw up the second (like entering an jalepeno eating contest)
2. Don't spend a lot of time planning, organizing, etc.
3. Don't depend on the weather cooperating.

I would probably call the people I'm the closest to in order to say 'bye'....goof with the kids awhile.....then go get a case of beer. I'm quite confident that's what I would do.....dog or not.

Lat year when I really thought I was going to die...I remember being on the way to the hospital and thinking what I damn shame it was that I was going to die sober and didn't even have enough air left to smoke a last cigarette. LOL!

I would want to spend that last 48 hours with my kids, hubby, grandchild and my family doing whatever.

I don't know, Sam, how about just enjoying our being alone? I'ms orry to say it, but being alone is a state of mind and not about "doing" things.

I have a friend who has wealthy parents. When I say wealthy, I mean really wealthy. Him, on the other hand, he doesn't like to show it off. He plays the regular guy role. His parents tell him to skip classes and concentrate of sleeping with as many girls as possible right now, when he's not married.

I tell you, this guy is obsessed with "doing" stuff. He's out, he's socializing, he's NOT working and quite frankly does a rather poor job of being a "player" since he's a very (read too) nice guy to have any luck with girls. In his case, he's got a whole plan of not being alone.

Just enjoy being able to go eat at which ever time you feel like, whatever you feel like, listen whatever music you feel like, watch whatever you're in the mood for, make the sounds you feel like etc. And don't think "in 48 hours the wild crowd is home", 'cause you won't enjoy not even 5 mintes of it. Think in terms of "my life will go back to normal."

Good luck and have a good time,

Twinkle

Well, only about 5 hours left of the "Bachelorhood" thread's life span.

Activity Scorecard:

1. Happy hour- 4 evenings
2. Playing Pool- 3 evenings :o
3. Painting- Two rooms
4. Leaving the house after midnight, and closing down a bar- Once (Last evening: I cheated and slept from 9-midnight before leaving to go out)
5. Luxury loaner cars driven while Delilah's car was being serviced- Two 2004 Durango Limited Editions. 8)
6. Number of past loves that asked "if I was still married"- One (and that was certainly enough)
7. Vomiting on self, bed and or best friend- ZERO!! :P :P

You can't mimic the life of bachelorhood with only a few days to play Samson. When I was first single....I really thought I had to have a plan every Friday night in order to not waste time. Then, one day, I realized I could have a lifetime of choosing what I wanted to do on Friday night if I stayed single. After that, I rarely went out again. HAHA.

I think all married couples would probably do well with more time to do things separately. It's the constant 'being together' which becomes so damn monotonous.
