Time and space are relative, when you occupy more space time speeds up. No, seriously when you are 4, a year is like one fourth of your life so it seems like forever and in your limited perspective it almost is. When you are 40'ish a year is only 1/40th of your life, so from the broader perspective it is a relatively short period of time.

lol

metabolism

Could well play a role. About 1 in 20 women do get problems with their metabolism, when they hit menopause, often because a particular gland is not functioning properly.

You wouldn't know what gland that is would you? Maybe that would explain some of my problems.

The pituitary gland, if I am not mistaken. But I can be, as physiology is not my field of expertise. Also the thyroid may be cause for some concern.

I think we are like cars.....after awhile....the parts just quit working. Sometimes they can be replaced or repaired....but the car still doesn't run like a new model. The body has a few dings and dents....but somehow we still creep along on the roadway of life.

Although our mileage tends to drop, that is compensated by slower (and thus more economical) driving.

This is so true, I find that I just can't run as fast as I used to, but on the bright side, I can still run just as far.

Prolly because you pay attention less and your memory doesn't record all the days events.

You know Merika, I noticed this as well. When I was a child it seemed like YEARS between each Christmas...now it seems like I no sooner take the tree down than it's time to put it back up again.

crazy.

That is because now you have to pay for the gifts and the presents, and barely get to enjoy them. As a kid, you got the presents, but always wanted more. What happens from December 27th-December 24th is basically earning all the money you need to spend for X-mas.

I think our perception of time, is also influenced by the desires we have in the future. The less "big" they become, the slower time goes ?

Well...if this is true:

One of Albert Einstein's greatest insights was realizing that time is relative. It speeds up or slows down depending on how fast one thing is moving relative to something else.

Then maybe it's as you get older...you move slower and life seems to pass by faster.
