Where do you do your best thinking?
Personally, I do mine on the toilet. I have nothing better to do than think. I sometimes take a notepad in with me lol

Nifty idea.....especially if you run out of toilette paper!
I do most of my thinking if I happen to be driving around by myself. It's an interesting idea though....because rightfully everyone should have a certain time and place in the day to reflect and plan. Between the puter and TV...perhaps this is where we are falling short as a people.
....makes note to self to think about this next time I'm in the car....

My problem is that I don't know how to turn my brain off. I have to fall asleep in front of the tv every night or else I'll get no sleep. TV and video games are the only things I can do to clear my mind and just be.

I sleep with the TV on also. I bet I've seen every 'infomercial' in the free world! After I check on my daughter at 0500 to make sure she got up okay...till I get up again at 0700 with my son....I now have the habit of watching the pet psychic (Ms Sonya) on the Animal Planet channel.
HOW RETARDED...she gives you messages from your dead pets!!!

I usually fall asleep to one of the following movies:
- John Carpenters, The Thing
- The Exorcist
- A Night at the Roxbury
- Final Fantasy, The Spirits Within
- Billy Maddison
- Caddyshack
- Tommy Boy
I'm sure there's more, I just can't think of any right now.

If it's just everyday thinking then I usually do it in the car while driving. *not such a good time to be distracted, I know* If I really need to ponder something I have to remove myself from everyone and everything. Usually I need to sit near water. Don't know why but it grounds me. That's when I can just...be.

I heard a preacher say once that the reaon people go to the mountains, beach, lake or whatever.....is because those are things that don't change. Maybe that's why people can do better thinking at places like that. They aren't so clutttered with progress.
I wonder if the retention basin across the street would be KINDA the same??? HAHA! :?
Actually, I live about 1/4 mile or so from the beach. Stangely enough...I don't even particularly like the beach. I'd prefer living in the mountains.

I can't think near running water, it makes me have to pee. So does falling asleep near a fishtank.
For some reason, my mind goes off on tangents all the time. I'm always thinking about something not directly related to the task at hand.
um, err, what was I talking about

I don't think it's stupid at all. I think that any job that is routine, mundaine, or requires little thought is the perfect time for your brain to go elsewhere.

I wouldn't want to LIVE on the beach...especially after how Florida got hit this year. But I wouldn't want to live more than a few hours away from it either. That's why, IMO, the Carolina's are the best states in the Union. Also why I plan to move there some day. You have mountains and beaches...my 2 most favorite landscapes.

HEY.....beach front property is getting cheaper by the DAY Ayla!!! I kid you not. A lot which WAS $1,119,000 is now going for $887,000! That's quite a drop and this is the area where we had the least amount of problems.
If people stay out of flood zones and trailor parks...usually there is only minor damage unless it's a CAT 4....which is rare.

I do my best thinking when I walk 2 kilometres every morning to catch the bus to work. In rain or sunshine, if I have anything to "mull over", it's just the right distance for me.
By the time I get to our "Coffee Meeting Place" I'm in a great mood and set for great topics for discussion, silly topics, or just reading a book, and for Duke's sake, they are not "cheesy reading"!!! Heed that, Duke????
