what are your plans for new year's eve?
We don't do much. we always spend it with the kids here at home. We watch movies then watch the ball drop at midnight.

I do wish I could get wasted though

Not really into being socail SH. I thought I was going to spend it with my daughter but apparently that plan has changed so I'll figure something else out. I do have one more Coheba left and a bunch of beer so maybe I'll just bring it in at home.

There are only a couple of years where I didn't spend it at home. Going out is just too crowded. The kids and I usually play games, eat a few special snacks and then we all go to our rooms to get online. (Mom has beer after the games. L00k Dook....yet ANOTHER occasion for me to drink beer!!!!)

we used to have people over or go to a house party and get sloshed. we stopped doing that years ago because i hated starting the new year off with a huge hangover and pretend that i didn't have one for our kids. We usually get things to eat that we normally don't eat too often (seafood) as a treat. Man! hubby turned me into such a home body! When did that happen? 8O

Star, at the risk of being attacked by Granma jokes from Duke, I think as you get older the hangovers are just too hard to handle. If I drank mixed drinks/cocktails now.....I'd have a hangover for days. I can handle beer....but that's about it.

We are getting Luna de Luna Sparkling Chardonnay/Pinot Grigio blend, steak, lobster, scallops, and cherrystones and making a lil feast for us and my mom. Then we are playing Scene It, LOTR Monopoly and watching movies. I'm actually pretty excited. Then 1:30 am 1/1 is our anniversery! (Give or take a min or two) I always tell him that if he hadn't been at the bar smooching some random chickie at midnight we could call midnt our anniversery but nooooo- he had to be over an hr late finding me. I'd be mad if he knew he was supposed to be looking for me LOL :lovedoctor: As it is- we just got verrrry lucky!

My daughter wanted Scene It for Christmas. My son didn't notice that he had purchased the expantion pack rather than the game. When we went back after Christmas....we couldn't find Scene It anywhere. We ended up purchasing the Trvial Pursiut with the CD's instead. It is VERY fun.
How is the Scene It in comparison? Do you use a board with it...or is it just on CD's or what?

It's a board game w/DVD's Depending what you roll you either get a card ? or a DVD scene ? It's sorta hard to explain- it's easier to learn while playing
We looooove it though. We play for hours.
http://www.sceneit.com/
has store listings and stuff but you can also find it on ebay, yahoo shopping, etc....

That's the same way the new Trivial Persuit one with DVD is set up also. I agree....it's great fun. The kids and I played for a few hours the other night. Incorporating DVD's with a board game idea was an act of a genius. I think they will become VERY polupar. It's combining new technology with the old fashioned board game idea.....and it's just wonderful.
I would suggest every couple or family getting one. They run between $20- 27 dollars....depending on where you shop and are worth the investment.
