What would you do if ...
you were witnessing a person getting beat up and it appeared like a large group of people were coming to somehow get involved in the squabble.
We went out to eat tonight after today's part of the tournament and when we were leaving we heard this girl start screaming and then one guy knocked this other guy down and started to kick him. Me and this other guy from my group started to run over there when we saw a large group (at least 15) other teens run toward these guys. The word gang members first hit my brain when I saw the group. Anyway, the guy that was getting kicked finally got up and the girl that was screaming grabbed him and took him across the street. The rest of the group milled around that corner for a bit and then started to leave. I don't know if it was a gang or just a group of teens but I realized how stupid it would have been for me and the guy that started to run over there to do too much with out getting our own clocks cleaned. My girlfriend decided we should leave before one of them pulled a gun. Just curious what others would have done.

I'd do all I can to draw authorities to the situation but going in alone or outnumbered is always a bad idea. If a fight is fist to fist then you have a chance but you never know if someone has something they can use as a shank or other lethal weapon.

Call the police. Don't get involved. It may get you killed! I think there have been a dozen or so cases like that. That the person who tried and stop the madness became the target of the punches. And ended up dead.

Draw your own gun and dash full speed into the melee!
(Sorry, just feeling silly today!)
Seriously though, I'd call the Police!

Re: What would you do if ...
It was one of those spur of the moment things. If things had gotten really ugly the police would have been too late. We just saw it happening and just reacted. Fortunately nothing came of it but I surprised myself by even running toward the fracas. I wasn't alone but we were outnumbered. I don't agree with not getting involved however, regardless of whether I know them or not. I would hope that some good Samaritan would help me should I need it whether I knew them or not.

Thank you. It was stupid considering the situation but I didn't feel right just standing there watching some guy kick the crap out of someone else.

That's so true...putting myself into that position, I would absolutely hate the feeling going on inside me if I stood by and did nothing....

Re: What would you do if ...
sometimes you have to consider if your putting your friends at danger by getting yourself involved, because if you get involved they are most liely going to help or join you.
there was always fights going on in the city i lived in, the best thing to do is shout the police are on their way the gangs normally back off then coz they dont wanna get caught then you can help whoever was getting beat up.

Depends on the guy their kicking the crap out of. If it was my grampa, I'd likely join in the kicking.

Re: What would you do if ...
I at no time put my friends in danger. Just so you know. I wouldn't do that to them.
