What search engine do you use?

I'm a nut for Google. However, in using Google there are some tips for along the way to make your searching easier and quicker. Take this test to see how much you really know.

I have a basic understanding of the operators on Google. Serves me perfectly, if I need to look for something (must say, my recent experiences with the Stasi and KGB have made me extremely reluctant to use search-engines). As for the test? 7 out of 15.

It depends. I mostly use google and yahoo, but some time ago I was using altavista and askjeeves.

the morality issues im talking about are the fact that they are tryng to copy coprigfhted books for online searches, which violates copyright law. The other is the fact that Google desktop copies files from your computer to theirs (they say it is so you can access your files remotly, i think it is so they can spy on us.)

Have you ever noticed if you are looking for a current event... they give you all the liberal sites first??

I don't care if they spy on me or anything....I'm not so important that anyone would care what I'm doing.

I dont' know anything about the copyright probs.

I use search engines a lot for tech support. If I can't find the answer on one search engine, I try another till I find what I'm looking for. Also different ones have other functions, I use yahoo and google maps. Altavista I use babelfish...etc...

I use google simply because they return the most relavent results of all the search engines combined. That may be changing though because there's a lot of things happening in the world of site indexing.

The main reason for using google though is that many of the other search engines return google results anyway so why use the middle man when you can search the original.

Now that the entire system of page ranking and it's fairness are coming under fire, I wonder if the glory days of google may be coming to an end.

Simple. Organizations refer to information on the internet, which they either do not put on the net in the first place, or from which you are systematically denied access for one reason or the other.

I had to electronically sign up for a course, but it was made systematically impossible. Then I get referred to information pertaining to that course, yet access was systematically denied. Luckily I have been able to fix that problem.

But more and more I feel myself like Al Bundy, in the scene where he had to order some parts for his car:
Tape: "Press 120 if your car is a Dodge"
Al: Presses 120
Tape: "Hello Mr. Bundy."
