What is the longest shift you've ever worked?
Today I went in at 4:30 AM and left at 4 PM.
A few weeks ago I went into work at 10:30 PM and left at 3:30 PM the following day.
Approx. 10 years ago, I went to work at 7:00 AM on Monday and left work at 3:30 PM on Tuesday.

Gosh....out of the corner of my eye I read the thread topic all wrong and thought you were losing it Duke!
I've worked a 12 hour shift a hand full of times. If you are on overtime....it's not all bad.

The last job we had was resident managers, on salary (as a couple). it sucked. we'd work from 7 am to 11 pm almost daily. talk about exausting! I felt like I was in a slave camp! We've quit that and now I'm not working. for now.

I would have to REALLY like a job to accept one where I'm on salary....rather than an hourly wage requiring overtime pay. In the US...they are currently changing laws so companies can't take advantage of people who are on salary.

that would be a really good thing if they changed that here too! we were making 32,000/year as a couple!!!! and worked like dogs! and the benifits they had really sucked. I would never do that job again and to take a job again that's by salary, Never! it's not worth having no life over that's for sure.

That's the point where I'm at but usually management employees are paid by salary, on average. I'll be updating my resume this weekend and keeping my eyes open for better opportunities. I don't mind working hard or extra hours, I do mind doing it for free.

You could live on $32,000 here fairly comfortably because we don't have those high heating bills and winter clothes to buy. It must really be almost impossible in Ontario to live on that. I thought the cost of living was quite high there.
Then again....I've made the jokes of moving to Saskatoon! (Still a possibility.....we will know after Nov 2nd) LOL!

I used to work 4 days at 12 hours a day, I liked it because you get 3 days off.
now I work for myself and the shift NEVER ENDS

I work 16 hour shifts some Fridays from 3 pm to 7 am, worked 12 hours on Monday as well as having worked all weekend. I get paid time and a half before 11 pm on Friday and double time after that for any time I'm working on the weekend. Made almost $10000 in overtime pay this year.

I've worked 10 hour days and a Saturday when we had a lot of overtime for a month and a half straight! It got so the mind just didn't function, but thankfully, the body did what it had to. Now there is more shiftwork and more people, so overtime happens but it's rare for me! Though I did some this week...
