Your place ;-)
It doesn't really matter where I go, so long as it's with people I care about.

With the kids.....Vegas or any theme park....we love them all.
By myself....anywhere which was totally quiet, no pets and no one needed a ride. I would need internet access or a really great bar within walking distance. LOL!

I'm lucky enough to have found a spot on the planet that makes me feel completely at peace, and I've travelled enough to be able to have compared it with many other places: A little B&B on the North Shore of Oahu.
Note to self: add "Throw my ashes over Wiamea Falls" to Xmas euthanasia note!"
Hope everyone was in the mood for some dark humor today. It seems I am.

I would probably enjoy one good camping trip if it were well planned out with all the right stuff. I wouldn't want to do it for a long time though.
Backpacking....no way! That's far too ambitious for me.
Motorhome maybe.....hotel preferrably.

Camping UHG......I've spent enough @##$#@$ time living outside to last me the rest of my life. The closest I wanna come to camping now is staying overnight at a Holiday Inn in a room without a remote control for the TV!

SH that's what my camping trips were like
Regardless, I'm unlikely to go camping again. I prefer a little luxury.
My hols (when I win the lottery): Vegas, Disney, NY, Barcelona, Venice, Maldives

Camping is fun with just about anybody, so long as they appreciate a campfire as much as I do.

Isis: I have been to Italy (Naples, Florence, Rome, Pompei) and Greece (Athens, Mykonos), and seen the ruins. For me the best was were the Port of Rome used to be (since ancient times, the Mediterranian sea has receeded so now the beach is miles from were it was).
I liked this because basically it was a "self tour." You're let loose in the vast ruins to explore it alone, sort of like an Indiana Jones character, unlike the Acroplolis in Athens, where you're watched like a hawk and irritated Greeks decend upon you for sitting on the wrong rock which turns out to be some small part of the ruined structure.
Also liked Naples a lot. Is is interesting to note that this city probably will not exist in 500 years unless some miracle of human engineering saves it from sinking.
Why do you want to go to these places?
If you do go, I'd strongly recommend going during the Winter, not the summer like I did (VERY HOT, and few places are air-conditioned).

Samson....Isis likes old buildings, ruins and history. I do too....but I don't want to have to fly for hours to get there or hang out anywhere where they don't speak English.
