Update on Alkali
A couple of people have emailed to ask how Alkali is doing. To be honest....I'm not sure.
The 'pnemonia' got worse to the point of edema setting in so badly, his feet and legs were swollen twice their size. He was getting increasingly incoherent and not eating the food I was bringing him. He is now in the hospital and will remain there. It seems the pnemonia is actually a misdiagnosed strange bacterial infection in his lungs and no one can figure out where it came from.
They have him in quarrantine....until a source or reason can be established. I've gotten nauseated and had headaches after being at his house. It's possible the source will be found in there. It is currently being investigated.
I'll keep everyone informed as soon as I learn of any new news.
Please keep him in your thoughts....it seems like a VERY serious situation.

OMG, I wonder if maybe we can put together a little "Get Well Alkali" fund.

Oh my! I hope he gats well quickly. Hope they find out what caused this bacteria in his lungs. This sounds very serious!
You said you've felt kinda sick after being at his house. Mold can get a person VERY ill. another thing that would get a person really sick is lead and asbestos. but there isn't too much of that left in places these days unless he lives in a very old house and those things weren't removed.
I'll keep him in my thoughts and prayers.

Aww...that was a sweet thought. Actually, he's doing well financially and has great insurance.
He was somewhere having more tests run when I called earlier. I will try again in a little while. They changed his room number....so perhaps he's out of quarrantine now.
Star....I agree with you. I think it's possible it's black mold.

No....he moved out of the condo when he bought some land for retirement and decided to rent close to where I live....just down the street actually. I AGREE....I think there may be some serious compensation coming his way.

I hope he gets well soon and also hope it's not black mold. I knew a guy that had it and I don't know if it was as a result since I didn't know him before he contracted it - but he was a real whack job - his wife too.

I smell something VERY fishy here... Would this be related to your health problem? Are you guys often in the same place.

We sure talked about that. Due to it fixing to go to court...I'll comment in PM though. I'm not keeping it a secret from any members....I just don't want it on an open forum.

I was finally able to see him in the hospital yesterday. I had to wear this mask which was shaped like a duck bill....LOL!
He seems MUCH better. He even asked me for his bills and check book which was a good sign. He still has a very serious pnemonia and also has diabetes of which he wasn't aware of. Now, he has to give himself shots in his stomache....AARRGG! That would be hard for me to do.
I gave him everyone's messages.

I'm so happy that he's showing signs of getting well. That sux about the diabetes part of it though (I'd have a hard time to do that myself) but it's also good that he now knows about it.

I'm glad to hear he's doing better.
I'm not sure about the rest of you, but it almost feels as if it's a family member in the hospital rather than just some anonymous person.
