The whole idea of this thread is to ask random, unimportant questions that may or may not make any sense whatsoever, and see if we can draw even more silly conclusions.

For example:

Will my nostrils stretch if I pick my nose with my thumb instead of using my index finger?

I'd say sunset for two reasons:

1. It's rising and thus lighting the sky whereas sunset is setting thus allowing the sky to darken.
2. Less smog in the morning means less diffusion of light.

Sunrise; or at least it appears to be. Probably because darkness has to be expelled and your eyes have to get used to it.

How do you know you are suffering from amnesia unless someone tells you? Only the old cells forgot, the new ones should remember.

They are AWOL, but never get court-martialled . At least they are not taking a drive.

Why is that people either forget both to do something (buy food for instance at a supermarket) or both actually do it?

Suppose you tell your husband that you need some peppers from the supermarket (assuming he is not a shop-phobe). Both of you go shopping. Either you both forget to buy the peppers, or you both buy the peppers thinking the other person will forget.

How come?

I guess you either trust they will do it or you assume they will forget like always.

How come the bad person in the family is called the black sheep?

Because it is a rarity a black sheep will be born in a white sheep herd (my mom is a farmer's daughter). Hence he is an outcast.

Also, I don't know if the expression exists in English, but the Dutch have an expression: "When one sheep has crossed the dam, the rest will follow." Meaning that sheep are generally subordinate and trusting creatures. This conformity is of course not shared by black sheep.

Somehow the two will add up .

Why are people portraying themselves to be ignorant when a financial benefit may result from that?

Because Swedes hate to be called smart, and a large portion of the Swedish population is blond. Ergo, they created the false stereotype.
