Has your washing machine ever eaten a sock/socks? Where do they go?

I usually find the missing one under a bed or stuck to some other outfit due to static cling. Rarely does my machine eat them.

I have lost socks in the washer and never found them again...I swear!

My wife always takes her pants and socks off in one foul swoop, so I'm always missing her socks in the laundry because they are stuck inside her pants somewhere.

Due to 'pregnancy dementia' I've also found 'foreign objects' in the laundry, like my wife's shoes, a full roll of toilet paper, and a bunch of lettuce, lol (she washed it for dinner, then left it to drip on a tea-towel, and then just threw the whole thing in the laundry, lettuce and all).
