Default Snow for Christmas Eve!!

Okay...I just had to share this with you guys. We had SNOW on Christmas Eve! You don't understand...it NEVER snows in Houston. We had big lovely flakes, lots of them. What a beautiful Christmas Eve.

AND we got a call from our son John from Iraq. We hadn't heard from him in three weeks. We couldn't have asked for two better presents.

OH WOW CINDY! It's very cold and has been raining here. It won't snow on the beaches area...but it may snow on the other side of town. I'm watching for it....so we can go see it!

I'm SO glad you heard from John. I was watching some of the messages being past back and forth on CNN this morning (the ONLY reason I would watch CNN) and was wondering if you were hearing from him regularly. The mail service there just isn't the best and internet isn't always a sure thing either.

That's fantastic Cindy. I love it when you get snow for Christmas, it really helps make things seem more beautiful.

Any news on when your son may be coming home?

Samson - Have you been adding a little too much Jack to your eggnog again? :P

Duke - To answer your question, John's battalion is supposed to be leaving Iraq towards the end of March...but of course nothing is certain till they're on the plane. We're keeping our fingers crossed.

Merika - Snow in Florida!? I'd have to see pictures if that happens. We went to my sister's house for Christmas, an hour south of where we are, towards Galveston, and they got lots more snow than we did! Their kids made snow angels in the yard, had a small snowman on the front porch...it was surreal.

I hope everybody had a good Christmas. What was your favorite thing you got for Christmas? You already know mine.

In 1989 when Isis (Chloe) was born it snowed heavily in North Florida. It caused quite the mess since they had no option other than closing down the interstates...filled with college kids wanting to go home for the holidays. People who had fireplaces were also taking in neighbors. Most of the electric went down due to ice on the lines. It was beautiful.....but quite the hardship on many.

Cindy... I hope John will come home VERY SOON. I know you end up counting each hour of everyday. My heart is with you. I truly care.

Christmas here was in the 60's - no snow except what you could see on the mountains.

Those surrounding mountains have at least some snow on them all year....if I remember correctly. Vegas is really surrounded in beauty!
