Snoring
My daughter tells me I snore like a tractor with a pig driving it. She's no slouch herself as she inherited my deviated septum and she makes sounds similar to grinding lips and a-holes in a big vat of soon to be bologna meat.
Anyone else here snore and if so, is there something less painful than surgery that will help with the problem?

my husband snores like crazy. so much and so loud that half the time i have to leave and go sleep with kassandra. He says that I snore too but I don't believe him. me, snore? nope!
They sell these strips at the pharmacy that you can put on your nose at night and it's supposed to stop you from snoring. I never bought them so i have no idea if they work or not.

I probably snore some....I would imagine everyone does to a point. My kids are the WORST though. I used to worry about them spending a night at someone else's house because they made so much noise.
I think it has to do with the position a person sleeps in also. I rarely sleep on my back....but both of them do.
I've never tried those new nose strips either. I think it would be uncomfortanble trying to sleep with a bandaide pinching your nose together or whatever it does....but it just may work.

That's precisely why I haven't tried them either.

Wouldn't you just love rolling over to snuggle with your man only to see this glowing white strip pinching his nose, mouth wide open, face full of bad breath, tongue hanging out like a dead animal and a big puddle of spit on the pillow. MMMMMM, sexy.

HAHA Star...no wonder you don't mind getting up with the baby!!! It's been so long I'm not sure I could sleep with someone in the same room. I'd have to really get used to it.

Yes you can. If you had some big strapping sailor in the bed next to you I'm sure you'd have little trouble adjusting, especially if he brought beer.

That scenario would be a one night stand....not a 'stay over' roommate.

I'd probably be so drunk I wouldn't know if he snored, drooled or left.

And they say romance is dead!
My Dad snores, loud enough to wake people in neighbouring rooms in hotels, a real problem as he travels a lot. Eventually he was diagnosed with sleep apnoea but before then I looked into treatments for him. The most effective is singing exercises. They strengthen the soft palate, that which causes the sound when snoring. The vocal exercises are very specific, certain sounds and facial expressions work best. I've heard they work, though my Dad never did get into it as he felt too silly!
