Skins/Themes
Does anyone use skins/themes on their computer? In trying to isolate what the problem was this morning (my puter wouldn't load worth a crap)....I used one of the optional skins from Mozilla. Now my task bar looks like a piece of wood. It's odd looking.....but different.

I had mozilla loaded on my computer to try it and i uninstalled it. I personally didn;t like it. I like the IE better.
I use just the themes that come with WINXP. I used to go and get different ones and always uninstalled them because they would make my puter run slow for some reason. Maybe that's what the problem is? I don't know. :?

I rarely use Mozilla unless I'm dl'ing something that IE locks up on. I use the Windows XP blue theme because it's eye appealing (to me), blues my favorite color.

maybe if you re-install your IE it might work better? sometimes that's all you need to do. I remember having to do that when i had win98. always re-installing the IE. it was annoying!

I used to find it in my program files somewhere. i don't remember exactly where now since i haven't had to do that at all in years. I used to find it, double click and it would re-install. Ask your friend, maybe he'll know exactly where to find it. It's hard for me to explain anything without being in front of your screen. LOL! I can solve most problems with computers but i have to be sitting in front of that computer to do it.

It sounds like it's time for a re-formatt and re-install of the entir OS. You may have missing dll's or other problems with your Operating System that are at the root of the problem. IE is constantly being hacked and attacked and unless you span for virus/spyware constantly then your at risk. That's the reason that so many people are switching to Mozilla because it's pretty much left alone for now. Believe me though, when the number of Mozilla users gets anywhere near IE it will start being attacked also. It's like writing virus' for the MAC, why waste your time writing malicious code that may only affect 5% of the worlds computers?

Nothing like a little wood to make it feel just like gnome.

That almost sounds like it should be carved someplace. It's a classic!

I use windowblinds which makes every window look different. I've nevr had a problem with mozilla that was becuase of windowblinds.
I didn't read all the replies, so sorry if someone said this already.
I never use anything accept Mozilla and never let anyone that goes on my computer use anythign else either. Unlike IE or Opera, Mozilla isn't as open to getting spyware, viruses, popups or the like.
It's a little bland, but once you get used to it, it's nice.
Really custamizable too.
