Simple Toy Directions
Who spent hours trying to follow 'directions' for putting together a gift...either this Christmas or a previous one?
One year, Isis' got that supid Barbie 'Camper'. I was up for HOURS putting that dang thing together. (My cussing was not equivalent to the 'dang' I stated in this post! I was MAD!)
My oldest son wanted a car racing set once which was equally as annoying to put together.
I meant to ask you guys earlier who had 'directions to follow' tonight?

I'm going to assume that most guys are like me and only use instructions as a last resort. For the most part I assemble everything and look at the directions periodically to see if I'm on the right track.

My dad bought my nephew this really cool remote control race track for christmas. My little brother, being the good uncle that he is, decided he would put that thing together for him. He was in that room for hours! I went in there to check up on him to see if he was done and he was all frustrated. the light wouldn't come on. we thought it was broken. I told him but there are still a ton of pieces to this track that you didn't put together yet! those don't matter he said. so i left the room. when i went back in a couple hours later, all the pieces were put together and the track was working. He didn't look at the instructions until AFTER I left the room the first time! Men will be men! :?

Another of Santa's little helpers bites the dust. :P
Reading directions is not always helpful, as they seem to have been written by the last guy that put it together for the 1000th time, and he assumes that all the parts are the right size, etc.
I've found that lubricating my mind with a hot toddy or three whilst slapping the damn thing together, fitting whatever screw goes into any hole, and whatever shaft fits through whatever .............bearing................ahem.......... ...(am I just talking about putting toys together?).......... gets the job done to the recipient's satisfaction since the assebly time is inversely proportional to the lifespan of interest.........(so true with so many things!).

I actually purchased a TV/Entertainment Cabinet from Ikea and the instructions were wrong in a few places.

I don't even know how to use my 'On Demand' Comcast remote control for the main tv in the house. Much less figure out directions.
I'm with Samson....it calls for a stiff drink......yes, and biting dust.

GOSH Heather.....I wasn't trolling for PORN! HAHAHHAHAAHA!
For a family of people....it's really beneficial when we can all finally sit down together....to find a show or movie on demand. I just don't know how to work the remote yet.

In order to keep Samson from having to give me a 'moral' reminder....I'll keep my answer to myself.

Again, I'm appalled that I am exposed to this sort of.......of "behavior" on a "family friendly" discussion board!
