Server Issues
I'm sure most of you have noticed the tremendous unreliability around here lately. I believe the problem is that we're well on our way to a hardware crash and I've asked that Canaca investigate the manner. I know full well that all their going to do is tell me everything is ok right up until the time I lose everything. Sound familiar to anyone other than me?
I'm currently backing up everything (or trying to) so in the event something happens, the losses shouldn't be too great, or so I hope :?
They also just informed me that my server has been upgraded to 256 MB of Ram. Anyone who knows anything about computers will tell you that 256 is nothing and it only confirms my suspicion that they have us being hosted on junk, likely with an overtaxed pipeline to the net.
All of this would go a long way toward explaining how ****ty this place runs time in and time out.
I'm also contacting other hosts during this whole process and hope to have someone secured soon. I can't believe how much of an uphill battle it is to find someone who I can depend on and who can take us into the future. Some of the biggest names I've found have all kinds of issues that don't leave me feeling secure enough to purchase accounts with them, regardless of price.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing folks. I hope to have it resolved sometime in January 06.
