Puter Question

Just incase anyone would know....obviously I need to call my ISP.

I'm on a clearwire network....meaning there is no phone connection. I keep losing that connection. I have to go to run: put in - winipcfg
If I lose connection it'll show me under PPP Adapter with no IP addy....so I have to change it to the DAVICOM PCI Fast Ethernet Base. Hit Release ALL and Renew ALL to get it back connected.

I have to do this about every 15 mins. It doesn't take but a second...but it's a pain. If anyone knows where I could go to set this...please let me know. If not...I'll call tomorrow.

OK....I called them and had to erase my cookies and folders. Oddly enough...I had a hard time finding the site by typing lifesupporters on google. The front page first came up saying it was an error. It showed the headers....but no material. I clicked on forums anyway and got here.
You may want to give it a try yourself after deleting your cookies and folders. Just a thought.

It seems the site was out of the air, as I had the same issue. Have not deleted the cookies or anything. Have not even rebooted. In fact, a few minutes ago, I could not read another page here.

HAHAHA....here I was giving my ISP a hard time....when Duke was probably just working on the site.

The site was temporarily offline just a short while ago for some strange reason. Performance was poor so I re-booted the server and lost all connection to the sites and appliance administrators.

I've actually purchased a new chat software that I'm hoping will integrate into one database and link to all network sites. Right now, I'm having issues installing it properly as it's not written for my version of phpnuke.

Hopefully I can have this chat client up and running in the next few weeks.

BTW, as buggy as the install has been, I can tell this is an awesome program. It has pretty much all the functionality of MSN or AIM with the exception that it's run through the website.

I'll update everyone in a new topic as I get closer to making it work.

Couldn't we just always use Yahoo or something for chat??? If you put one directly on the site...then two people end up chatting rather than posting and it hurts the post count.

I could be wrong though....I've just seen it happen elsewhere.

It's more for chat parties but I've membered at other sites with similar programs and it doesn't seem to hurt their content much.

Anyway, if people don't like it or it's detramental to the sites then I can always remove it. I simply want a program that links all the sites together and a chat program is perfect for that.

Lastly, why would I want to re-direct traffic from Lifesupporters to MSN, Yahoo, etc.? It seems logical to me to offer enough on our sites so members/guests really have no reason or fewer reasons to go elsewhere.

At least, thats the dream.

I see your point. Even though....when people are playing games...they can converse and still play cause that's their purpose for being there. On a family forum....people post in conversational style....to share with friends. If they can chat....they may not post. Just a thought Duke....I believe in the end....you'll know what is best for all your sites. I just don't want you to feel pressured in adding a chat module.
