Default Pots and Pans

Do you have a good set of pots and pans? Or do you have left over stuff given to you by other family members, along with a few cheap things you've purchased for yourself?

I have some good stuff my mom has given me thru the years, but I just can't bring myself to actually pay a lot of money for the good stuff.

Since my husband is the great cook around here, he usually asks me to buy them for a Christmas present if he needs new ones, I ask for sneakers...we're very practical around here

My Mom and Dad gave us a nice set of pots and pans years ago, we used them for many years....

well i kept putting the burners on high when you are only supposed to put them on med. because i thought my omlettes would cook faster. well they did, but in the process, ruined the frying pans. i know not to do it anymore though

I have some nice pots and pans that I have accumulated one at a time. I have found that in buying cheap ones you get what you pay for and need to buy new ones after a few months. I do have a few big pots that were my moms that I still use.

I have a nice set my mom bought me for my wedding. I have a cheaper set that a friend bought us for our wedding and aside from the non-stick surface, they are still pretty good. I have a couple things I took from my mom when I moved away from home. I did buy myself some castiron pots and pans once but got tired of the way they had to be cleaned and they kept rusting on me so I put them in the attic. I only use the griddle now.

I use stainless steel or cast iron. They cost a little more but they seriously last a lifetime. I should never have to buy another as long as I live.

I don't like to cook enough that it's worth the investment for me. I did happen to get a couple more good smaller pots from my mom over Easter.
