Mode of Transportation
Sorry, you can't pick 'car' or 'truck'..so, is it subway, sky train, bus, or taxi? If it's 5 - 10 miles, would you consider walking?

Re: Mode of Transportation
subway, sky train, bus, or taxi?
I am not too fond of subways. Too many people.
Planes - way too little space.
Train - I tend to get drowsy.
Bus - My running joke on buses is that every 15 miles means I need one additional replacement kidney.
Taxi - too expensive.
I'd pick the train.
As for walking, I am always up for that, provided I am not freezing to death, or in a rush. Sometimes walking is quicker than depending on public transport - during the day.

Re: Mode of Transportation
Where I live we don't have subways or sky trains or city buses. If I had to choose I guess I don't have much choice other than taxi or walking. Nothing is very close to where I live so walking would be difficult and taxis just stink. I guess I would become a hermit and just not go anywhere.

Good add-on, IR...forgot about the bicycle as a choice! No motorcycles, though!

Re: Mode of Transportation
Bicycles rock. Most of the roads in the NL are highly suitable for them. Definitely high on my list as well.

Re: Mode of Transportation
Biking is something you need quite a bit of practice of to learn. It is uncommon for people here not to have learnt the skill by age 6.

Re: Mode of Transportation
Wherever possible I'd prefer biking.

Re: Mode of Transportation
Bicycle wasn't an original choice, although I though of it myself. I don't currently have a bike but would chose that one under the above stated circumstances.

Re: Mode of Transportation
Ya I know bicycle wasn't a choice but it would be the only means I'd choose for that distance if I couldn't take a car.
