There's a problem with either the block or the .sql query from the block or possibly the database.

This site and gamemoviemaking have some issues that are beyond troubleshooting so they'll require fresh installs from the ground up.

I'll be testing a fresh install on gmm and if successful, doing the same thing here.

Can you cut and paste that section from one of the sites that is working? The last time I was on Cash Pirates this feature was working. I don't know if that is possible but thought I would ask. Don't know too much about building this kind of a website.

The problem is that is patchwork and it's something I may attempt with a lesser site but lifesupporters.com has 10x the database of any other site in the network. In fact, this database is larger than all the db's in the network combined so I really don't monkey around with it.

I know it's a bit of an inconvenience that the block doesn't function correctly but what if the site didn't because I screwed something up within the database?

I also have no desire to put anymore resources into this site since we will be moving from this software to a new software suite in the upcoming months. This represents a mountain of work for me so I'd rather gear up for that instead of make changes to software that won't be used much longer with lifesupporters.com.

It isn't that big of a deal that it doesn't work. I didn't mean to make a big deal of it. I was just wondering thinking that you were almost done since you moved to a new server. I didn't realize you still had tons more work to do and I, of course, wouldn't want you to jeapardize the whole database for something so insignificant. I am not trying to push your buttons or anything. As I said, I am ignorant of this type of programming and what goes into it. You do a wonderful job and I certainly wasn't questioning your work. Sorry if it came out that way.

No problem at all tkdlady. I was just explaining in-depth why this option will remain overlooked for now and possibly for good. I really just view it as an unnecessary task given my directive to move to new software within the forum environment and secure a secondary software suite for the main page (yes I'm still not sold on vB Advanced).

Once we are on the new software at this site, all others will be structured to properly centralize all staffing discussions of all network and satellite sites here at lifesupporters.com. We will then get into discussions on how to proceed with all the sites and what order issues need to be addressed in.

I also hope to launch a tiered membership program sometime this year which will hopefully add some revenue to this site while offering the members who wish to be involved, in more of the day to day of the site and network in general.

There's a lot of work remaining and the server move has only helped to highlight the outstanding issues more (at least in my mind).

As for the rest of my above postings, I'm only trying to properly explain why I'm choosing to ignore a glaring site related issue which is something I don't normally do.

Just an update, I also have some issues at gamemoviemaking.com and thought I'd try overwriting that install with files from a site that I know to be working correctly. In the process I completely mucked up the database and managed to miss the main problem so I guess that ideas out.

I fear all these sites will have to be upgraded one level on the db, then re-built and populated with portions of the database and then finally have the forums upgraded to the most current version.

Loox like the work has just begun :?
