The site is running ver poorly regardless of what you do. The reason submit is slower than everything else is that you are now writing to the database which is an added step on an already poorly performing server.

I'll actually be re-booting the server momentarily so please be patient. Hopefully this takes care of some of this horrible lag.

I hope this speeds it up some, please let me know if you encounter any more problems.

I've also disabled e-mail and e-mail scanning on this server because it was exploited at one time (still not entirely sure how) so hopefully that will save some system resources for site performance.

I guess the slow submit was part of my double post the other day. I did hit it twice because it didn't seem to be doing anything.

There is a hack for phpBB that won't allow more than one submit per session no matter how many times you hit the button but I haven't installed it due to the fact that we're moving away from this version of forum to a much newer and secure version.

I've completely disabled the mail server and cleaned out a few databases. I also re-booted the server and appliance administrator. I hope this makes the sites run quicker but only time will tell.

Well...this one and IG were so slow today....I just finally gave up out of sheer frustration. Do the post counts go down significantly when the site is running slower?

I haven't really noticed site stats going down much, in fact it's been quite the opposite around here lately. We've really started this year off strong and may even have a good chance of getting close to 1 million hits if we can just improve slightly on this pace.
