Default It's COLD Outside.....

Since it happens to be a cold day here.....It reminded me of when I worked on the pier last winter and almost froze to death! There was no way to get any relief or to get out of the wind. I wore this great big one piece duck hunting suit....looking like a Commando from a strange county and didn't care.

Have you ever lived in a house, worked somewhere or just got in a bad situation where you remember being the coldest?

Anyways I lived in PA for a short 3 months October came around and it got to 45 degrees. I walked outside and came running back in the house I called the place of my employment and told them I could not go to work because it was to cold... I moved back to Florida 3 days later LOL. I've still never seen snow and I never want to.

OMG you guys! With those temparatures you think that's cold? I'd be in my glory right now if it was that warm here! :P

Today, it's supposed to be -2. We still don't have snow (well it snowed but it didn't stay long) and the wind is freezing cold. Now that's cold!

I grew up north of ontario in Sault ste marie. that's a cold place to live! The snow banks are as high as the houses and the winters a super long. I would never move back there for that reason. I hate winter and being cold. Spring and summer are my favorite seasons of the year.

-2 HOLY CRAP!

Stoneheather lives more south Florida than I do....and 62 IS considered very cold weather there. Ours is in the 50's today.....which is pretty cold for us too. Keep in mind....we don't generally have to wear anything but shorts and flip flops around here!

How do you shop and stuff when it's so cold?

We wear our winter jackets, get in the car and go shopping. It's not igloo weather, it's winter. LOL!

My idea of a winter jacket is a wind breaker! HAHA! The kids and I want to move somewhere where it snows.....but I don't know if I could stand being so cold as to have to wear real coats and stuff for several weeks at a time.

What do you do with pets and stuff? Do the kids go outside? What if you had to change a tire or something? It just sounds so inconvenient.......LOL!

You should bring them on vacation to where it snows, then it will get old and they wont want to move, snow can be fun, but its a pain in the ass also.

LMAO!! Pets and kids go outside in the winter. if you get a flat tire, you change it, outside in the winter. LOL!! It's not that bad really. When you hit the north pole then it's freezing. I wouldn't be able to live there that's for sure! Winters can be fun. You go skiing, snowmobilling, skating, snowboarding, sledding, ice fishing....it can be tons of fun. I used to do all that when we lived in the soo. here, we don't have enough snow to do much in the winter.

I guess this is why when I told my Dad I was contemplating moving to the mountains.....he told me I'd be back in FLorida by SPRING never to leave it again!

Doesn't it get expensive having to buy kids all those winter clothes every year when they are still growing so fast and can't wear the same ones the next year?

Yes! It does. I thought I would DIE the first year I spent Xmas here, when I was 16. The coldest it got in Jamaica was mid 70s F. It's turned colder here too (around 4C)

One would think the 'shriveling' would not be much of a macho ego booster!
