The hotel thing is an unusual occurrance. On a business trip it is hard to say what day is best. If you are working at least you are busy and the time passes. When not at work time passes slowly because you don't know anyone to visit and depending on where you are, there may or may not be anything to do in town.
Sunday, when I am home, is still the best day.
