I'm gong to Canada

My sister is begging me to go see her before I have the baby, so I agreed she lives in Michigan like 30 miles from the Canadian border. I haven't seen her in 11 years, ( hate going to see someone after that long all fat and pregnant!) but she promises to take me to Canada for a weekend.

STar & Duke is there any cool places to go in Ontario?

She is going to ontario, everybody speaks english. You wont be that far from star(i think, though ontario is large)

where in michigan? michigan is cold. I grew up in sault ste marie, ontario (sault michigan is across the border) and it's cold there. When are you going?

I would know a little more about what's around there if I knew what border it was (around which cities).

Canada is a very nice place to see though. it's very clean and the scenery is gorgious. it's cottage country up there so the fishing is great too.

I'll have to ask her exactly where she lives. I was born in Michigan haven't been back since I was 11.

I am going the 3rd week of May so I am assuming that the weather will warm up

there won't be anymore snow in may and it shouldn't be as cold either. things should start to warm up by then.

I may be wrong DA. I know my oldest son dated a girl from up there for awhile and her whole family barely spoke English. I may have the wrong area in mind though.

I think you would really enjoy the trip SH! Are you flying or driving? If you a flying....don't get it too close to your due date. They like for you to be at least 3 weeks out and you'll have to show proof at the airport with documentation from your doctor.

English is our main language here but we do have a lot of culture in ontario. Where I grew up, north of ontario, there's a lot of italian. Here, there's everything and more of everything around the Toronto area but anywhere you go i Ontario, they do speak english.

I'm not near michigan DA. that's about 8 hours from here north. I live near the border of niagara falls. NY is the state to my border.

oh, ok, then yeah i know that area, thats closer to where i used to live in NY, but yeah canada is a great place to visit as an american, same language, not that many different expressions, favorable exchange rate. now i want to go there.

have you ever been to our side of niagara falls? it is way more beautiful then the american side (sorry guys :wink: ). I've been to both sides and ours is cleaner and we have the better looking falls to boot! Clifton Hill is like an amusement place on it's own. Lundy's lane has anything you'd want for food and motels.

It really is a beautiful city to visit. I live 15 minutes from the falls.

I think Niagra falls is where we will go now that you mention it. I have never seen it.

waterfalls are my absolute favorite I've only seen PA waterfalls but the 1st time I did I cried. Thanks for the idea's guys.

I've been to Winnipeg. I didn't like it at all but that may have been because it was a bad trip, rather than the place. I was 9 and I went on my own to stay with bad tempered relatives I hardly knew.

If you are going to fly....just make sure to find out what the pegnancy rules are with whatever airline you are flying on.

Yes I am taking him so he can be spoiled rotten by all of my faimly. My entire faimly on both sides lives in Michigan and they are all dying to see him. Most have never meet him, they want me to come visit before I have Ally because it is more complicated to travel with 2 kido's.

Plus Noah loves the airplane I couldn't deprive him of his "FLY in the sky ride" that's what he calls it.
