I love you
Three little words that are so easy to say but not heard nearly enough. My mother said those words so much that it seemed like a constant stream. My father, on the other hand, never even said it to me once in my entire life.
I tell my daughter I love her all the time as well as my wif. I firmly believe it's the nicest thing you can say to a person and it can't be said nearly enough.

I concur, it's too bad that sometimes the words seem hallow because of overuse and don't adequately express how we truely feel, but just saying them is a start.

It's nice to hear those words, I know it makes me feel better about myself when I hear them said to me.
What's better though is when you can actually feel the other persons love. Nothing better in the world IMO.

I'm having some trouble myself.
This is a family site so we can't get too carried away but we also must be careful to have a generous amount of joviality so the tone doesn't become to heavy or depressing.

I sometimes worry that I use them to much, I don't want to detract from the meaning by overuse. But at the same time I show that I mean it by my actions, I'm not someone who confuse the meaning to others or dilutes it by saying one thing and doing another, I truely mean it and show it. I asked my gf if I overuse it but she said from me she can never hear it enough. I say it to my brother (who I live with) a few times a week and he quite often initiates conversations by saying it or says it back to me. Same with my parents, since I've left home and we've communicated about issues from the past, I say it to my dad when I talk to him on the phone, to my mom as well on the rare occasion I do talk to her but it's becoming more strained as she becomes more distant from us.
Anyway my point is I think that I say it a lot but the thing is to back it up with your actions, that's the most important thing of all. I think if you talk the talk but don't walk it, therein lies the problem.

You can never tell a person you love them too much IMO.

Everyday before my daughter leaves for school, when she gets home from school, when she goes to bed, when she wakes up, she hears I Love You from me and gets the hug to go with it. I say it even more as the day progresses.
My 16 year old who is out there somewhere right now, I say i love you to her everytime she calls me and i say it when i do see her (which isn't very often )and give her the hug to go with it. While she was growing up here, she'd get that as much as the younger one did.
My husband here's I love you from me every morning before he goes to work, when he gets home from work and everytime I talk to him on the pohone during the day and of course before I fall asleep at night and the hugs go with it.
I think it's extremely important to hear those 3 little words and to get the hug to go with it. I hear I love you everyday from my kids and my husband and get tons of hugs too and it does feel really good.

We say it before bed.....and usually when someone is leaving for school or for any longer amount of time. I'm not as physical or 'huggy' as I probably should be with my kids though.
