Hurricane Season

It has rained here 4 days in a Hurricane Season is a comming, the state of Florida has issued TAX FREE HURRICANE WEEK so supplies don't have sales tax. I live in a Highly Infected area from charlie and everyone is deff feeling the hurricane anxiety. Most people in Charlotte County still have blue tarps on there roofs.

I had a few mobil homes before the season now they are gone completely I lost alot but I am very young and can bounce back quickly the seinors can't

The whole town is in a walking state of depression, fear & Anxiety. My daily to do list is to spend a crap load of money on stuff I will hopefully never need again.

that's horrible, I couldn't imagine having to go through that or live knowing it was going to happen again shortly. I hope this year is kind to Florida.

I hope that you don't go through what you did before with hurricanes. That would be a scary thing to deal with not knowing! wow! I hope hurricane season passes you by with no damage done.

I hope it passes you by as well, I do also encourage you to move to Canada, specifically British Columbia. I could be more specific but I think you all get the jist of what I'm saying.

BC isn't all that cold, it's very beautiful as well. If I wasn't planning on hitting the opposite coast up again in the next couple of years, I'd probably head out that way.

Paul- I'm a southern Florida Cracker who has never seen a drop of snow or weather below 60 degrees to me BC is freezing, along with any other northern place :?

We have learned the most important thing during Hurricane season is to make sure we have 'haul a$$' cash available.

I also need to find some dog boarding more inland....because he's getting too big to drag to Grandma's house. Other than that....I refuse to worry like I did last year. I was a nervous wreck for 3 months.

NO!!! Usually my friend Larry with the Coast Guard has a few hour advance notice of any evacuations....so I have time to get out of town before gridlock. Since I live in a trailor within 1/4 of a mile of beach on 3 sides....I would NEVER stick it out at home. Once the bridges are closed....we would be in a dangerous situation due to storm surge...if the winds didn't demolish us.

If I lived in a well built house....I would be more prone to ride out the smaller ones. Even though....it would be stupid. It's really best to get the out of the way of those things cause you never know.

I forget how close you live to the border sometimes, I have a hard time leaving because it's like a 8 hour drive just to get the heck out of FLA. This is why I want to go North.

It's not worth the stay I would have left for Charly but we thought it was going to Tampa, I remember watching the news and the Anchor was like " EVERyone don't panic the strom has turned and is comming strait for us, get in to your closet, bathroom put a matters over your heads NOW!!" it was so scary I am glad you leave Merika because those storms can turn so quickly... I hope I don't have Ally in a Hurricane :?

One thing I did learn for home Owners Insurance purposes is to video tape things in your home and the outside of it and send the tape up north because it is hard to remember everything you have.... Speaking of witch I think I should get renters insurance.

Yes....if you are renting you should for sure get it! It won't pay full value...but it'll help you get back on your feet if you lose alot of stuff. I don't think it's very high...less than $50 a month.

50 bucks a month is expensive. i pay 30.00 a month. everything i own will be replaced unless it's some kind of a terrorist attack. you should have content insurance when you rent for sure!
