Default How do you treat people...

...that you just can't get along with and/or don't like (hate)?

Are you rude, obnoxious, tollerant, or fake friendliness?

I've worked with people who I haven't particularly liked. The response depends on who the person is.

If it's a boss or a supervisor....then you can't very well be rude. LOL!

If it's just a fellow employee....generally, I'll still go into a 'fakey friendly' mode because I don't like being rude to anyone. Also, I have found just because I don't particularly like someone or had a disagreement with them....doesn't mean I can't get to know them later and find out I was wrong in my original judgement.

There are people who I didn't feel warm towards....but yet have sucked up to at work....and BOY was I glad later when they made supervisor or something.

My Dad always taught me that anything you haven't said....you never have to take back.

I try to live by that to the best of my ability.

Default people I don't like

I work in customer service so I deal with a lot of unpleasant people. Most are very nice though. When I get someone who is rude, I just try to be polite and friendly. If they persist in being rude, I just take my headphones off till they're done ranting.

Adonai....
Have you ever sat next to someone who was really rude to customer or refused to go the extra mile? When I worked for British Airways...sometimes I really felt sorry for the person on the other end of the line.

I fake it. Especially if it's a customer that's rude, you have no choice but to fake it and try to kill them with kindness.

as far as family members are concerned, the ones i don't like know i don't like them but we are civil. i wouldn't ignore anyone who says hello to me or tries to talk to me.

where friends are concerned, well, I simply cut them out of my life and we're not friends anymore. I don't have any friends that i hate. I like them all.

Most of the people I work with are pretty good and professional. If they are not, I call them on it right away, it's a bad reflection on all of us.

Like my signature line says, I suppose if I must, I can fake an entire relationship.

But I think your question is targeted toward how I behave with the every-day a-hole: 1. Guy that drives past me down my street at 50mph in a 20mph zone with my kids playing outside; or 2. the guy that honks his horn behind me while I cannot possably drive forward; or 3. the annoying oalf playing pool at the table next to me who keeps accidentally backing into me while I'm shooting.

Case 1. I stop the car, grab the guy, neighbors pull me off him, police arrive.

Case 2. Grin and bear it and fantasize about taking the baseball bat out of my trunk and bashing in his headlights.

Case 3. Leave early.

Personally I tend to treat people who display these traits with a mirror of themselves.

I have quite the temper...but I've learned exchanging evil for evil...usually doesn't make me feel any better or change the situation. Ignoring is the best thing to do.

The above statement is in wild contrast to letting my dog bark all afternoon yesterday while my neighbor slept.....who plays the drums all night while his girlfriend is at work! Yeah....the same neighbor I'm always complaining about!!! They are great people...other than those damnable drums!!!
