Default Happy Skiers!!

I saw on the News tonight that Whistler, B.C. already has Snow and their Season starts next week! Whistler is a lot happier about it this year than last; lack of snow.

Are you going to ski this year, Duke? Have you yet got Dwoing involved in it?

How many other members ski?? I used to cross-country ski until my husband and two boys were too embarrassed to be seen with me!

I was into snow boarding for a while and got out of it because I'm too chicken to put air under me. The thrill for me comes from jumping and since I couldn't get off a ramp properly on a board without eating snow I decided to dump the sport.

I may go skiing a few times this year assuming I can afford new gear. All of my stuff is now crap and I have to basically start over. I may actually sit this year out and start gathering supplies for next season.

I haven't gotten Dwoing into it because it's just way too expensive atm.

I've never skied in my life and I intend to take up some skiing lessons. It's not expensive at all in Romania, so I guess I'll do so when I get back home, which is in January.

Maybe I'll even go to Var, in the Alpes, but I don't know yet. Even if one of my friends has a house there, everything is so expensive around that place that I have to carefully consider this.

I will probably never ski. The closest thing you would get me doing - and it is as likely to happen as an independent candidate winning the US Presidential elections - is me going cross-country skiing. No downhill skiing for me.

I've never done the snow ski thing either. Looks like great fun. Chances are I would never get beyond the clubhouse with the fireplace and the Bailey's though.....lol!

If your going to board make sure your body can take punishment because you fall fast and very hard. Catching an edge is extremely easy to do and if it happens, you go down immediately. I've nearly knocked myself unconscious a few times.

I've had my fair share of injuries from snowboarding.
Because of them I know always wear a helmet, If I get any type of head injury again I have a high probabillity won't be able to fly anymore.

I never wore a helmet.

I thought head injuries, though common enough, took a back seat to wrist, arm and shoulder injuries on the slopes.

I love skiing, I love snowboarding. I learned to snowboard in Arizona of all places. I just can't do it though, my right wrist is already screwed up so bad that I can't do normal pushups, falling on it brings me severe pain. *sigh*
