I'm not sure if I started her day off well or not, but I decided to not go to bed after work and take her out for breakfast before school. The 2 hours I spent in rush hour was worth the 55 minutes we got to spend together but I was a bit suprised that when we said goodbye at her school, she ran off without so much as a look or a wave. I thought it was a little strange behaviour but didn't dwell on it.
I asked her in passing why she ran off as she did and she said it was because she felt like crying when I dropped her off at school and that was all she could do to not cry. I'm not sure whether or not to feel good about it and I really hope it didn't do more harm to her special day than good.
I'll tell you, either I'm a big sucker, or she has me completely wrapped around her little finger, but comments like that just make my heart melt.

Duke, she's daddy's little girl and of course she has you wrapped around her little finger. what daddy's girl doesn't? I still have my dad wrapped around my little finger and i'm 40! LOL!
You're being an excellent daddy to your little angel. It's okay to have your heart melt when she says or done certain things. She'll be your little girl forever no matter how old she gets.

Ya I hope she always stays daddies little girl as well, I'm worried about that changing one day because I'm no longer cool enough to be around.

she'll go through that starting at age 12 and it'll end around 16-17. Kassandra's into that stage now. she won't even let me go get her at school because "it's embarassing" to have your parents pick you up from school. We have to be careful when she's got friends around because everything embarasses her right now. When she's home with us though alone, she's still mommy and daddy's little girl.
daddy's little girl will always be daddy's little girl. no need to worry about that!
