On Going Out

What is the least successful evening you've ever had when you went out with a friend?

My friend and I decided we were going to a Live Performance to a Play in which one of the very talented men I worked with was in. We decided we were going to have a nice leisurely supper before the Play started. I live in a small City and I mention this because it comes into play itself.

We decided to go to a Restaurant we both like but had never gone to before on a Friday evening. At about 6:00 p.m. we are seated and ordered our food. Before my friend finished her meal the waitress whisks away her food and hands us the bill; saying "Goodbye, and have a nice evening." We were flabbergasted but realized why she did this, the place had a huge line up. Of course, we both didn't make an issue of it, left no tip, and told each other we would never be back there again on a Friday evening. I mean, after all, it was just one time this happened; the other times my friend and I have been there has always had great food and we were allowed to stay longer than a half hour!

So around 6:45 we decided we'd look in most Stores as the performance wasn't opening it's doors until 7:30. We were shocked to learn that most places in the City Core locked their doors at 7:00 except for the small Mall we have here. Since we were downtown we didn't go to the Mall, we decided to just walk around. At 7:30 we arrive at the Theatre only to be greeted by a sign that said "Performance Cancelled Due to Illness".

My friend thought it would be a good idea to go to see a Movie that was playing that we both thought would be great! Upon arriving at the Movie theatre we realized the new Movie starts on a Friday night, and we even missed the one we both thought was playing.

So our long, wonderfully anticipated evening lasted just over one hour! We went home realizing this had to be THE worst going-out evening both of us had ever had, together or with other friends! We still laugh about it, though!

-Going out to a restaurant, where staff did not know how to cook
-Going to a concert, and not being able to breath because every bloody dolt in the joint was smoking 24/7.
-Going to a nice place, only to discover it is still under construction
-Going to a nice place for a walk, only to discover it was fenced off.
