Finally! A new vehicle!
My husband has got to be the best husband in the whole world!
He calls me the other day from work to tell me he's got a really nice mini van, fully loaded, mint condition that he's buying me today! The owner of the big dinner theater that he's building is selling it to him for only $1,500.00! It's a 1996 chrystler (I think?) town country. I think? Gerry saw it and couldn't believe that he's only selling it for that price. He said the inside is in minto condition as well as the outside. He said that the paint job looks brand new, fully certified (legally certified) and runs like a charm. It's fully loaded with power everything, sunroof and a TV.
I can't wait!!!!!
I haven't had my own car for a couple years now and I do miss it! Gerry won't be taking this car to work, he drives the company van for that so my van will stay nice and clean. I already warned him that under no circumstances are any tools or drywall going to ever touch this van.
I'm so excited. that crappy car we have, that I haven't been driving by the way because it's too scary, will go straight to the scrappers!
I'm finally back to being free!! YEAH!!

Hope you don't live in a densely populated area, otherwise the freedom you have gained, is the freedom to be stuck in traffic jams.
But if not everything is within walking distance, and add the children to the equation, a car is almost a necessity.

That's pretty cool, great deal and a tv too, to bad it's still a mini van. :?
Think of how excited you would have been getting a mini van when you were 18 lol, you would have been insulted. Oh the joys of aging.

at this point I don't think I'd care if it was a mac truck! LOL!
I would've rather be getting a car but I can't complain. after all, I don't have to pay for it so I'm grateful. I think a mini van will be better now that we have a baby. easier to lug everything around when we go visiting and easier to get her in and out of the car.
I never thought I'd be happy about getting a van. That does cry out "Married with children" doesn't it? LOL! it's better then what i have now which is nothing so i'll take it and smile.

FABULOUS NEWS Star! It will be so good for you to have the freedom to get out whenever you want to without having to make plans around Gerry's work schedule.
People take vehicles for granted.....but when the kids were young, I went almost 2 years without one also. I can still remember how excited I was when my Dad bought me one from one of my uncles. It was even an older stationwagon....and I didn't care. I thought it was the most wonderful thing in the world. It's just nice to know you can go with your ready to go.
Hmmmm....guess you'll be cruising more and posting less.
I'm still real happy for you!!!!

I probably won't be going out more (unless i have money to spend of course  ) but it's nice knowing that I can if I want to! Now I can go to appointments without having to bug someone for a ride. I hate doing that!
I'll still be posting as I always do.

It won't all hit you until you get and see it parked in your driveway and you realize you can LEAVE the house without asking for a ride. I SOOO remember what a great feeling that was!!!
