Curious about the points
I have been noticing that under my account info I have points that keep racking up. Can someone tell me what they mean and what they are used for? I am a bit curious. I don't know why I haven't asked before. I guess it only just started tickling my brain cells.

They really don't mean anything to be perfectly honest. I think sometime down the road, I may use the points system in conjunction with additional goodies such as access to hidden forums, photo gallery access, etc. For now the points are just a measure of how much time you spend on the site and what you do with that time.
You accumulate points every time you do something on this site such as: Recommendation to a Friend: 250 points News Sent to a Friend: 250 points News Submission Published: 250 points News Article Rating: 50 points Page View: 2 points Visit to a WebLink: 100 points Rate to any WebLink: 100 points Comment to any WebLink: 100 points Forum New Post: 10 points Forum Answer Post: 2 points Vote in Surveys: 20 points Comment in Surveys: 40 points News Comment: 50 points I will likely scale these points down when we move but I left all values high for the past while since no ones points were transferred over to this database in our last site move.
