BUSY Weekend!!

I finally had some free time to be able to post on here. Jackson turned 14 yesterday! We went shopping last night and he bought this really sweet St. Croix reel for his rod. It costs $70 but it's gonna catch some nice fish! His birthday party with friends is tonight. Tomorrow, he'll go fishing off of the pier on the beach with his buddies.

Chloe had district solo competitions this morning. Had to be downtown at 7:45 AM!!! :? The teacher always has her go last since she is a great singer and does the more complicated pieces....so we were there forever. She sang one of her songs in German and even the Judge clapped for her. She said Chloe sang it perfect and she had never heard it attempted in a high school competition because it was so hard. Chloe was so happy...she started crying....so did her chorus teacher....so did I.
She also won the $100 scholarship towards attending solo camp this summer at the University of Florida! (I only have to come up with the other $400, but I planned on sending her anyway!) It was a great day!

Don't you love when I get on here and go on and on and on?????? LOL!

How is everyone else's weekend going? I guess Luba is in Grandma heaven

Merika, sounds like a wonderful weekend for all of you!

Please say "Happy Birthday" to Jackson even though he doesn't know who I am and "Good Luck" with the fishing!! So happy for Chloe, too! Remember, I want to buy her first CD...just let me know how soon that is happening! Please say "Congratulations" to her from me, too!

I am in seventh heaven just knowing my granddaughter and her Mom are coming next weekend and the following week Duke will be here! I still am thinking I'm just dreaming, it's all so wonderful!!!

I have got all sorts of ideas, but Dwoing is almost eleven so since it's her holiday and grandmas are known for spoiling their grandchildren, I'll go with what she wants to do! For me, the greatest gift is just being around her!

Happy Birthday to Jackson!!! Kass just turned 14 last month. they're not too far apart, our babies.

Congrats to cloe!! what an accomplishment! sounds like she'll make her dream of singing a reality. that's awesome!!!

I think i'm just going to lounge around this weekend. i plan on doing some spring cleaning starting monday so i do need to rest for that.

Other then that, i'm jsut waiting for krystal to give birth. she's due on the 25th of this month so it can be at any time now.

Probably because that is the first word that comes to mind after bus..? Or the most prominent word, with the structure bus.y?

People have a lot of those though. No need to worry yet.

Dutch is even more fun, as accents often change the interpretation of long words dramatically.
An innocent one is "tennisster", compared to "tennister." The double 's' gets barely pronounced in the first word. And in the second word, the single 's' is often overpronounced. The first word means 'tennis star' the second means 'female tennis player.'

Congratulations to your children Merika. My son plays in the high school band and had a spring concert on Friday night. I usually attend but I was headed for Tallahassee for a tournament. My daughter had an awards ceremony on Friday night as well for her art class and won $200 for one of her art projects. I missed that as well but my husband attended. I spent all day yesterday judging at the tournament. It was fun as usual. Today I am home and just relaxing.

I am happy for you Luba. It is nice to be able to visit with family. Enjoy your Bud Light Duke!!

Actually, I'm a Molson Canadian drinker to be perfectly honest. Bud, Coors, Miller, etc., are all either brewed by Labatts or Molson up here anyway (we put alcohol in our version).
