bending the rules
My school made a new internet system where we have to login with a username and pass. The reason was so that they didnt have students using routers and wireless, but they never said that, they just said that we have to login, so i found a workaround in their system so i can still use my router, so i kinda bent the rules, they are not smart enough to build effective barriers and i have a personal issue with the IT department for not hiring me even though i am more then qualified.

I asked this is the other thread where you mentioned this.....why did they make such a rule in the first place? It doesn't make sense.

That way they can monitor everyones internet usage. I'm sure they have lots of problems with virus' and spyware not to mention "other" content as well. This way they can tell who goes where.

I find it hard to believe that there shouldn't be something available in your area. Phone any local ISP and ask if they provide or know of someone who does provide those services in your area. I'm sure they can put you onto someone in less than half the time it will take you to find one.

Yeah....it looks like they have it in NYC.....but GEEZ that's really expensive!!! There has to be a cheaper way out of your delimma. I'll keep looking around. I know Juno is one of the cheaper good connections....but would require a phone line access.
