Any Movies Lately?
What is the best movie you've seen so far this year on television, rental or at the movies?
We watched The Gangs of New York and The Punisher over the holidays and both were excellent. Neither one would be of interest to younger kids and also way too violent.....but for teens they were great.

We saw the Incredibles and that was pretty great. I also saw Identity, Blow and Road to Perdition and thought they were all very great movies.

I seen the Grudge which was awesome! I also rented the stepford wives...it was good too. I LOVE scary movies. Especially the supernatural ones. Those and comedies. I'm a big fan of Chevy chase, dan akroid and john candy. I can watch their movies over and over again and LMAO everytime. We watched meet the parents on the weekend with my parents. that one's hillarious too!

Sadly, most if not all I was able to accomplish during my 2 week respite from work was taking full advantage of my Hollywood Video MVP membership. The movies I remember:
Great:
Kill Bill Vol. 1
Kill Bill Vol. 2
The Passion of Christ
Burning Man
Last Samuri
Bad Santa
Worst F@#$ing disappointments:
In the Cut (except for Meg Ryan sexy scenes)
Cold Creek Manor
I'll Sleep When I'm Dead
The only movie seen in the theatre was A Series of Unfortunate Events. Jim Carry's comedy is beginning to wear really thin with me.

I'd have to agree with the Jim Carey thing, I'm very tired of his blend of overacting and face contorting, there's nothing funny about it anymore.

I also picked up Shrek 2 on DVD the other day and I can't believe how funny it is. There's a lot more hidden and quick wit humor in it, more so than the first Shrek, it's hilarious.
I wonder what Shrek 3 and 4 will be like now that their looking for a new director.

I want to see shrek 2. i loved the first one; we own the movie.
I also agree with jim carry's movies. I don't run out and rent them anymore. I don't find him as funny as i did at the beginning. I find him a little annoying now.

I also saw Bad Santa. I didn't enjoy it because the main character was TOO over done. I could take everything but him peeing on himself.....which I didn't find funny. The kid in it was great though.
I also saw the Stepford Wives. It was good.....but not as good as the original. Sometimes in comedies....they overact and then it isn't so funny anymore.
Oh Star....you'll have to get Isis' list. She LOVES scary movies and watches them all. I can never watch one......I haven't in years. She wants to go see White Noise this weekend.

I WILL see white noise. I can't wait to see that one. I can't go to the movies unless I get a babysitter so the chances of that are slim (I hate asking people to babysit, always have) so I'll either go rent it or buy it on ppv.
