The Announcement!
Okay.....I told Meanon I was going to do this!
Other than Isis and Sn00py, I have a son from a shorter first marriage. He is a wonderful young man who is actually the Asst. Director of a library in a very prestigious college. We drink beer together, enjoy each other's company and NEVER admit we are Mom and Son. (He calls me Moomers)
He got married a few months ago. Tonight, he and his new wife came to visit to bring us gifts from Amsterdam ....where they went last month for a jazz concert from one of their favorite artists.....(my daughter in law has a college radio jazz show).
They informed me......I AM GOING TO BE A GRANDMOTHER!
Can you imagine THAT???? I thought I would be mortified....but I'm VERY excited and happy. I want to thank Star who showed me you could be a great Grandma....and not be an old GOOSE! The baby is due June 7th!

Congrats, Merika. Remember you get to spoil the grandkid, then turn him/her back over to the parents

Yeah.... I told them they weren't getting anyting from me for Christmas but BABY STUFF! Isis will be in the Disney area...so we have already made plans!!!!
I'll have to ask Star how it feels to look at a baby and know it came from one of your own children. Isn't that just AWESOME???? It gives you the realization.....that far beyond you......your life goes on.

And then it ends up looking just like YOU....????
I remember when I first realized that Sn00py had my Mom's distinctive laugh. I thought that was so cool. He didn't learn it......he inherited it. That's just an interesting concept......
What if you ended up with a Grandson who said 'NO PANTS!'......?????

I'd love him unconditionally because I'll know deep down he's a quirky, fun-loving genious with wisdom well beyond his years.

Give the girl a chance, she only found out last night!
I'm so happy for you, Merika. It's about time you had some good luck
My Mum was not the typical grandma either (too young) but the bond is still special.
