So do you think it's a good idea for me to include more opinion in my news then? I've always been a bit gunshy about this because I'm sure there's plenty of people out there who think I'm an idiot more than a person who wants to help educate.

Not necessarily in "news". The article had a very intriguing title - and was not boring with an overkill of scientific research, and thus very readable.

I think putting in your own opinion is a very good thing. The original author puts his spin on things in his articles. It is your opinion. Someone else can make their own opinions. I think it gives the article more life.

I do think it's important to add your own flavor to articles but I really hate when it comes across as pushy or over opinionated.

I think "opinion" is a dangerous thing, when the article is either technical in nature or about politics; they may stir up a lot of controversy, when there is no "right" - and flames is something noone wants to draw. Then again, such articles would hardly be suitable for news on LifeSupporters.

I've been watching this topic since it was re-written and published on the new main page and it's threatening to become the most viewed news topic I've ever written.

What I can't understand is why it's also #1 of close to 14,000,000 search results in Yahoo.com as well because Yahoo usually ignores my news content.

Wow, that is fantastic. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. It is a feel good article and people like to feel good. You did a good job on it.
