What Should I Wear?
What would you consider appropriate dress for a job interview? Have you worn anything sort of outrageous and still got the job? Would you ever try that knowing you could win over the employer with your personality?

Re: What Should I Wear?
Don't ask. I am desperately looking for work. That does not drive me insane.

Re: What Should I Wear?
Seems I've showed up at a lot of interviews with Jeans and a T-Shirt
never had an issue with getting the job.. but then again you dont show up at a construction site with a suit and tie.

That made me laugh for two reasons...first my imagination seeing that in my mind!
Secondly, watching the English Comedy "Keeping Up Appearances" last evening when Hyacinthe Bucket (she pronounces it Bouquet) told her husband to put on a tie to go on a picnic. Another episode - he had to put on a tie to do some gardening.... I LOVE that show! She's SUCH a snob!

Re: What Should I Wear?
I am an engineer. We are a conservative lot for the most part so a nice dress or suit is the most appropriate and I would never wear anything else.

Re: What Should I Wear?
I dress up regardless of what I'm applying for, shirt, tie, dress slacks, jacket, the works. I actually applied at a Lumber Mill in a 3 piece suit and was hired on the spot lol even though I was the only applicant with no experience.

Re: What Should I Wear?
Myself I wear a nice dress shirt, dress pants and shoes. I am quite anti-tie. Don't like a noose around my neck if I don't have to have one there. It's always worked out for me good that way.

Re: What Should I Wear?
A select few occassions. It is a bit old fashioned, so you don't see it much anymore.
I for one hate dressing in a formal way.
