Temping
So I got temp work at Atlas Tube tonight cleaning up a chemical spill.
Manpower told me last week that they weren't looking to hire for anything I was qualified for which got me down a little bit, but oh well. Got a call this morning from Manpower asking if I was still interested. Said yes, got this one night deal. It's a foot in the door and I'm going to bust ass like I've never busted before. Show them I'm a great worker and that I can outwork any of the old farts there. Maybe, just maybe, I'll get in.
Crossing my fingers here. $12/HR for atleast 4 hours. My cousin is doing the midnight shift there too, maybe I'll see him there. Anyways I just thought I would post this. Starts at 1am, I am leaving at midnight cause it's really crappy out and I don't want to get lost. Lot of little country roads to go through.

I think getting in good with a temp agency is cool. Then you can take vacations when you want. I wouldn't mind doing it at all. If you like pysical work...they have TONS of jobs available in the gulf border states where the hurricanes hit.
Here's just one company out of the thousands begging for employees:
http://manufacturing.aerotek.com/job...e-Katrina.jobs
google out : Jobs Louisinana Clean Up
I started out on base with a temp company and ended up getting a job with a major company. When you are out there working....you hear of all sorts of other opportunities.

Well that was a little longer than I expected...Just got home, 12 hours later. Spent a whole 5 minutes cleaning up the spill (hydraulic oil) and then went to work.
I think in another post about Atlas I put the wages. I think I wrote base pay was $14 and with profit sharing it was around $20/hr....well I misheard.
Base pay is $14-15/hr and profit sharing is an extra $20/hr. That's like minimum. Last week their profit sharing was $27/hr. That works out to $42/hr. They work 60 hours a week, and anything after 40 hours is overtime. Overtime is 2x normal pay. You do the math.
I did the work last night. It's so bloody easy a chimp could do it. Don't get me wrong it is manual labor, it's just really easy. I want in, I want in now. Average person makes 90k/year...wtf?
Well I have my foot in the door now, I worked as hard as I could for the work I did so here's hopin they notice me. I'm gonna go pass out now. Tired, sore and cranky.
