Overtime
Well I'm at work today prolly doing the most boring job in the world atm. It turns out that a die broke and now I'm the only person in the company qualified enough to cut these parts on a plotter.
I don't mind doing the overtime but the issue is that I have to sit in one position all day long and watch the plotter cut. I can't walk away because if it binds up (which it will do) it can ruin my blade (of which I don't have many spares).
The only good thing is that I found a laptop with a great wireless network card so at least I can do some posting to keep my brain occupied.
I think this weeks total in overtime hours will be close to 25 hours

Re: Overtime
I actually don't mind now that I have a laptop with me.
I also desperately need the money due to my car issues, bills, Christmas and the fact my daughter needs to go to Quebec early 08 as part of a school function.

Re: Overtime
I hear you about the financial issues. Our truck broke down and will cost $1800 to fix and then my son's car needs new brakes and few other things. Why do these things come up when Christmas is right around the corner?

Re: Overtime
25 hours is a lot. Hope you get double pay for that.

Re: Overtime
The Canadian Government in their infinite wisdom, decided to scale back double-time pay a few years back. Part of it will be double-time but I'm guessing that most of it will only be time-and-a-half.

Re: Overtime
I believe it is time-and-a half if you work in excess of 8 hours a day or 40 hours a week, double time for hours in excess of 11 hours per day or 48 hours per week.

Re: Overtime
So your telling me that as much as 14 hours of it may be double-pay?
Sweet, too bad 2 x 0 still = 0.

Re: Overtime
That is confusing. Can't you quit, and set up your own company. Solely for outsourcing your services, so you can make a buck?

Re: Overtime
I'm looking into starting my own business with a buddy of mine so with any luck, we may be able to do our own thing inside the next few years.
I'm also quite interested in Webhosting and if I can get enough money put together, I may start a small hosting service through Lifesupporters.com. If this does happen, I'll likely register Lifesupporters.com as a business so I can get some tax deductions.

Re: Overtime
If you have a hosting service through Lifesupporters is it something I could move my website to?
