my roomate lost his job
My roomate lost his job, his division at our site got closed, so a few hundred people got fired

he could end up working with me, well i might get promoted, so where i used to work, but beyond that no, they didnt give any warning, today he showed up and they said your fired.

That's tough; except you saying you might be promoted! I know how tough coming to work and saying the job is over! Happened to my husband over twenty-five years ago; was told at the start of the shift, "this is your last day". The biggest employer of this city went down that day! Lots of people lost their jobs, their homes...and some, their marriages!
