Default My insane job

I'm a customer service clerk-we're poorly paid sub professionals-my coworkers are rude the bosses just want you to hurry up and get the people out of there-the standards are low and it's kind of depressing but I've developed these coping skills and maintain my own high standards despite my environment.
The nice thing is everybody leaves me alone-I wonder if I'm too spoiled to work in an environment where the boss actually watches you.I'm almost 50 and while I don't mind taking meaningful orders more and more the stuff you get from younger people seems silly and superficial.
If we ever get a management team that's serious they would eventually see that I'm good at what I do but I don't come off like a pro and I don't want to-I dont like those guys.
I'm not crisp.I make a lot of mistakes but I catch them I talk and joke with the customers-some stupid Yankee or Dallasan (worse) is bound to come in and get mad because I managed to make my clients feel like human beings-they've tried before...
I'm just whining...

Maby you can ask for a promotion!! or Raise!!

You sound like you may have some solutions to problems at your job, bring them to upper managment so they can SEE what a good dedicated employee you are, you won't get anything unless you ASK for it.

These guys don't do change-I'll get a break when it changes hands again-corporations are always changing hands and putting in new CEO's-the big corporate scandals actually help guys like me-my rep is totally-"weird but honest"

I think at the end of the day....ALL JOBS SUCK!

Hezekiah...I'm like you....I'm a really nice person and have a hard time treating people like a 'number'. You would THINK the bosses would appreciate you being a nice guy....but they rarely do. Is the job market good enough in your area for you to look for a different environment?

My health isnt good enough-the bosses DO cut me some slack. There are advantages short term I can't give up now...
The guys supervising me "chew me out" almost for show it seems-behind their hand every once in a while they tell I'm ok or sometimes they even say they approve.
I have no idea what's really going on.

I would rather work two lower paying jobs....than one higher paying job with a bunch of jerks. It was the same reason I left my last job and I really did like the job....just the PEOPLE who worked there were mean. Life is too short to be somewhere when you are miserable each day. No jobs are 'fun'...but having to work hard and feeling emotionally abused is two different things.

I sure wish you could find a job you didn't dread everyday. I know your health and insurance is an issue....but we've just got to think of another angle to get you out of that mess.

Hey, if I could get Google adsense credit/cash thru posting on forums...rather than having to have a site or a blog...I would be a rich woman by now!

Not true Merika. Most of the time my job is fun, I get to post and chat and email while fixing peoples computer problems over the phone. Sometimes it gets busy and is not fun but overall it's the most fun job I've had.

"unhappy"

is a euphamism. Since Hezekiah has gone far beyond the need for subtleness, I'll just say it: The Avatar appears to have been drawn by either someone in an "altered state" or someone who is clearly quite disturbed.

When was the last time you had the injections I prescribed?
