my boss is borderline sexually harrassing people
my boss is very flirty at work, she uses lotos of pet names and puts her arm around people, its kinda weird, if it was a guy, it wouldnt fly, but cause its a women, i dont think anybody will say anything.

She sounds like a friendly outgoing type person. as long as she's not grabbing people's bum bums or other private body parts then what's the harm?

Just because she is a woman does not mean it would not qualify as harassment. It means your chances of a jury convicting her in a court of law for harassment drop dramatically.
Such behaviors can confuse people, and if people act upon that confusion there is a big problem.
It seems likely, because harassment has a somewhat subjective element to it, that she totally does not perceive it as possibly being harassment.

Personally I think the lady is just out-going and friendly...and I agree with Star, if her hands start to 'roam' that's an entirely different story and is harassment.
I have hugged and been hugged all my life and never thought anything of it until the last few years when anyone and everyone that touches is afraid they might be up for harassment...I think it has gotten totally out of hand...
Poor Leo Buscaglia must be turning in his grave to see how the world has spun out of control; he hugged everyone because he was a sincere and loving person.
To me hugging my husband, Sons, granddaughters, friends is just a natural part of me. What is so wrong with taking someone in your arms when you are greeting them or saying goodbye...how memorable is that wonderful moment of touch...it's like a wordless pledge of love and gratitude for having that person in your life...it's like letting them know what a blessing they are...
Why are innocent moments like those turned into something dirty...I think when we lose the ability to touch each other to express our sincerity in knowing the person and being grateful for them...we will have lost a precious, magical, important part of our lives....

Where I live it is quite uncommon, even amongst family members(!) Even moreso among the men than among the women.
That is part of our cullture, and has been for quite a while.

My kids never leave our house without a hug and saying they love me. It was the same way in my parent's house.
I don't know DA...if it doesn't bother you personally and she isn't entirely FUGLY or smells funny...I would consider it a perk.

I would have a hard time living like that. growing up, we got hugs, kisses and i love you's but as a parent to my kids, i've tripled what i got. my home is like merika's. when my kids leave to go anywhere, they get a hug, a kiss and an i love you. every single time.
Nothing wrong with being affectionate amongst family members. that's the way it should be IMHO.
