well, things have really turned around for me.

My job was pushed ahead with a new start date - july 24th so i was all ready to start then. in the meantime, i applied at another company just for the heck of it. i did that a couple weeks ago. i applied for the customer service department. i didn't want this job because it involved selling (tele-marketing) and i don't want to do that. it's not my thing.

so, about 1/2 hour ago, i get a phone call from this new company telling me that they would love to have an interview with me for another department in the company. one that would not involve any selling at all. i would be verifying customer information for credit or something like that. my possition would be called a skip tracer.

I was honest and told her that i do have a job starting on the 24th with convergys and that i need to go there on the 21st to set up for payroll. so, she set up an interview for monday at 10 am. she said she would let me know before next friday if i have the job or not.

this job would pay 10.50/hour (convergys pays 10.25/hour) with full benefits after 3 months. i would work 4 - 10.5 hour days one week with frid to sund off then 5 - 8 hour days with friday and sunday off the next week. I really like those hours!! especially the 4 day week one.

i asked her why she chose me for this possition because it wasn't what i applied for. she said that she had an opportunity to go through some resumes and was extremely impressed with mine and wanted to give me a call for an interview for this possition. the possition i applied for only paid 10.00/hour. so, this is great news!!

the nice thing about this company is that it's so much closer to home for me. i ca=ould walk to work if i wanted to. convergys is out of town (welland) so there is al least a 20 minute commute each way.

so, i'm going to go to this interview so wish me luck!! i want this job!! I'll let you all know how the interview went and when i get hired because i know that i will get hired. am i being too confident? LOL!!

i'm nervous again, as usual. can't help but be nervous. I can't wait until i actually start working so i don't need to go through these interviews anymore. they're so stressful aren't they? I had a phone interview with this company 2 days after i applied. i thought the phone interview would be much easier but wow! i was so nervous, i was tripping over my words at times. i think it's because you know it's recorded. that in itself makes me nervous.

now i have to figure out what i'm going to wear for this interview.

well, i had my interview this morning and i think i have the job. it went very well. I will know the answer on thursday and if i got the job, i start on Monday!!!!

this job sounds so exciting!! i'm going to love it!! My job would be to track down delinquent accounts and find out where they are now so the money can be collected. for every one that i track down and find, i get a commission on top of my hourly wage. I have a feeling that the most popular phrase in this job will be "how did you find me?" LMAO!! another good thing about this company is that the benefits start the day you start your job. there is no 3 months waiting time.

I can't wait to hear from them on thursday. the only thing i want to hear is "congratulations, you jhave the job! welcome to nucomm". i'll let you all know if i have this job or not as soon as i do.

either way, i start a job on monday.

hubby's happy for me.

i'll have to do college courses online since i'll be working frull time. I won't be able to attend any classes so online it is. I don't know if this company pays anything towards education, i didn't ask. it doesn't matter anyways. with hubby and i both working, it'll be okay.

i can't wait until thursday!! i need to know if i'm in there or not! LOL!

Star, did I miss a post about your husband's job in Alberta, I believe, or is he working closer to home?

he's still waiting for his surgery which is supposed to happen in august sometime. he's still planning on going to alberta to work when he recovers. it takes forever to get surgery done around here. it's terrible!

well, i didn't get the job. maybe i was too honest. i'm disapointed but i'll be fine. I still start with convergys on monday morning. I go tomorrow afternoon for the grand tour and to get set up on the payroll.

Things happen for a reason. Maybe i'll go far with convergys and that's where i'm meant to work.

I'm happy that i have a job.

well, i went today to get on the payroll and i start on monday morning. I'm all excited again!!

I got over being disapointed about not getting that other job. things happen for a reason, i truly believe that and I believe that i wasn't meant to work for that other company but this one. I could have a pretty good future with this company and they really do care about their employees here. the benefit package is awesome!

I learned today that they're going to look into getting a bus for the convergys employees that live in my city to get them to work and home again. should happen within the next six months. that would be good! it would be cheaper then paying for gas in a car.

my working life finally starts monday morning!
