Try your local broker dealer they will find you a reputable ADR American Depository Receipts.

This way your dividends and intrest in paid in american funds, you won't pay Canadian capital gains, and you can buy/ sell in the american market.

Oh...this thread is going to get interesting. Even if you guys discuss the amount of money privately....I would still like to know how it works out.

as cheap as possible with decent companies, the goal is to gain as much off the exchange rate as possible in order to buy more shares...works better in asia then canada, but im assuming that canada is easier to get into.

I don't know Jack about Canadian Stock

Toyota though was quoted in one of the top 10 stocks this year.

As well as CAT Catipiller, this stock is in 200 Countires is the biggest Construction manufacturer in the World so even when the american economy is down it is still supplying other countires.

DOW Dow Plastics is another promising long term stock but you have to resurch it alot to see when to buy and sell. Dow is the largest Natural Gas company in the world. Natural Gas is used to make Plastic used in EVERYTHING from Tires, To TicTAc containers, to hoppital Equipment, ect. It is in 147 Countires, is extreamly committed to it's shareholders and highly increases it's dividends.

IR makes support equipment with Mining, refridgeration, BioMetrics and is a great industrial stock but you must sell when the economy is down.

I have some more if you want them, but they are more expensive. Sometimes I will only buy 10-20 at a time if I want to slowly build the ownership.

What Online trader do you use? sharebuilder is for a begining investor and only charges 15.00 a trade. you can sometimes buy junk stocks, penny stocks, and IPO's on them as well.

i use bank of america investments, $7 trades. i mean i have a decent amount of money to spend. But yeah its been hard finding people who invest not in the US, me and my dad really want to get into india, their economy is where ours was at in the 1890s they have a good 100 years of growth to come and with that and a 43:1 exchange rate there is a lot of money to be made. I just want to start out with canada cause its an easier market to learn.
