Happiness a work
Do you find that your happiness level at work is directly proportional to how much you enjoy the company of your co-workers?
I don't mind my job but I find my days are far less fun because all the co-workers who's company I enjoyed are no longer around.
Thoughts?

Apparently (don't pin me down on this) that is even more important than the pay for most people. If you have to waste a third of your waking life at work, at least enjoy it.

I love my job and the Company I work for and I love most of the people I work with! My work is located in the centre of a room in the huge Company, and I love the fact that people walk by and throw me a smile or just say "hi" when they are going through the room for whatever reason or job they are passing by...

I agree. I enjoy my work more because I enjoy the people. I hated it when I got laid off from my last job because I liked the people and didn't think I would find the same at a new job. I hated my new job at first but after I got to know the people I started liking it more. People you work with make a big difference.

Too bad you can't decide what you would be doing at work, else it would be perfect .

Re:
I LOVE my job and the people i work with. I've met so many nice people at this company from when i started there in sept. i don't see most of them too often since i now work at the other side of the building but it's so nice to see them once in awhile outside on break or in the cafeteria. i do miss the company i had when i was at the other side but, the people i work with now are just as nice; supervisors included.
i think it's really important to like your job and to have good people that you get along with working with you. like vautrin said, they are the people you spend most of the week with (if you're full time). of course there are the annoying ones here and there. i just tune those out. LOL!

I love my job, but most of the time is spent by myself or working with engineers or consultants - most of them are cool. There are some that are jerks though.
I went out last night and saw dave, the lead field tech, at the 2nd bar we went to. It was soon after that there were 80 shots on the bar infront of us (we each bought 40) and even soon after that they were all gone. I drank enough to kill 8 small children last night, and my hangover is just now finally gone (11:30pm).
In my defense this weekend was pretty much the first time I got to drink this year.

Re:
I actually have a number of side projects on the go that are keeping me very busy atm. I'm hoping that one of them pays off so I can justify starting my own business and becoming my own boss.

Re:
i am looking for alternatives, but im not sure if i want to have to start over again, i havnt been here long enough to really claim too much experience, so i would have to go for entry level positions. My problem is that half the time they cant make up their mind on what they expect from us, like the newest thing that makes me angry is that they are trying to cut the number of open cases we have, i had the most open, so management wasnt happy, however i took more calls then anybody else, so it was like i was getting in trouble for doing too well and i always feel like im the scapegoat for everything. The other thing i dont like is that i dont really interact with any of my coworkers because im on the phone all day, that and my job isnt exciting, its the same thing all day every day, i went to school for business i dont want to be doing tech support, if i can stick it out long enough i could get promoted to a more business type position that i would enjoy, so i dont really know what i want, some days its ok, other days im just frustrated and angry.

Re:
DA, is this a call center you work at? because if it is, you don't need to be there too long before applying for other positions. you have the education under your belt that will carry you into a more office like position. your education alone should get you there DA. have you tried to apply for higher positions? Trying doesn't cost a thing.
